Whether you are a new or regular SAMHSA Store customer or are interested in using new tools to make behavioral health information more widely available, SAMHSA is making it easy for you to connect to SAMHSA information on mental health and substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery. The Agency now offers its online customers “Partner Tools” on a new web page.
At samhsa.gov/tools, you’ll find links to SAMHSA’s Store, treatment facility locator, and email updates service, as well as information for website developers using application programming interfaces and links to other tools for specific SAMHSA programs, such as National Recovery Month and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Widgets and Image Banners
You can use these tools to help people find substance abuse and mental health information, publications, and treatment. If you have a website or an e-newsletter, you can insert widgets that allow people to register at the SAMHSA Store, sign up for email updates, and find treatment facilities via SAMHSA’s locators.
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
The Partner Tools page provides APIs in XML and HTML formats that enable people to integrate Store content directly into their websites. Developers can use the APIs to get customized lists of publications or resource websites available through the SAMHSA Store.
Another API allows developers to access the topical terms in the SAMHSA taxonomy, which they can use to filter the Store content displayed on their own sites.
Visit the Partner Tools page today! As always, we welcome your feedback about these new features and how you are using them. Let us know in the blog comments!
